Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 3rd district, shared his views on various issues via social media posts on February 5 and 6, 2025. His comments addressed concerns about high-speed rail deadlines, education spending, and state policies on fire and water management.

On February 5, Kevin Kiley expressed criticism of the High-Speed Rail Authority following an Inspector General report. He noted that the authority would not meet its 2033 deadline for the Merced to Bakersfield segment, stating: "A scathing new Inspector General report finds that the High-Speed Rail Authority will not meet its 2033 deadline for the Merced to Bakersfield segment. That is the very first segment." He further indicated his intention to introduce legislation aimed at cutting off federal funding.

Later that day, Kiley commented on education spending in America. In his view, there has been a negative return on investment over the past decade as overall spending increased while student learning declined: "For at least a decade, education spending in America has had a negative return on investment: overall spending skyrocketed while student learning plummeted." He advocated for significant reforms in education.

On February 6, Kiley criticized California's fire and water policies under Governor Newsom. He argued these policies were irrational and contradictory: "California has the most irrational fire and water policies imaginable." He accused Newsom of allowing forests to become vulnerable to fires while implementing unrelated measures such as banning gas cars.
