Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 3rd district, has recently shared his perspectives on various political matters through social media. His comments focus on Governor Gavin Newsom's actions and the ongoing High-Speed Rail project in California.

On February 7, 2025, Kiley criticized Governor Newsom for visiting Washington D.C. uninvited and meeting with President Trump. He stated, "This week Newsom showed up in DC uninvited. President Trump graciously agreed to meet with him." Kiley further mentioned that Newsom returned to Sacramento with legislation aimed at "Trump-proofing" the state through a $50 million fund for lawsuits. He suggested that Newsom could show appreciation by vetoing this legislation.

The following day, February 8, 2025, Kiley expressed disapproval after Newsom signed the "Trump-proofing" bills despite Trump's previous meeting and visit to Los Angeles. He remarked, "Newsom just signed the 'Trump-proofing' bills...Our Governor never ceases to amaze with his lack of decency and disregard for our state."

On February 9, 2025, Kiley voiced his opposition to continuing the High-Speed Rail project in California due to its high costs and perceived inefficacy over the past years. He commented, "It makes no sense to plow ahead with High-Speed Rail just because we've already spent billions on it...If the first $30 billion got us nowhere in 15 years, what good will another $100 billion do?"
