On February 17, 2025, Kevin Kiley tweeted about his legislative efforts to halt funding for High-Speed Rail projects. He stated, "My bill to cut off funding for High-Speed Rail has major momentum. It will also claw back $4.3 billion Biden gave the train." Kiley further elaborated that ending federal funding would effectively terminate the project due to financial constraints identified in an Inspector General report.

The following day, February 18, 2025, Kiley announced another legislative action concerning Governor Gavin Newsom's gas-car ban. In his tweet, he declared: "Now that Newsom's gas-car ban has been sent to Congress for review, I am introducing a Resolution to overturn it for good." He emphasized that this resolution is privileged and requires only a simple majority vote in both the House and Senate without the possibility of being filibustered.
